We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses in networks, systems, and applications.
- Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior and potential security threats.
- Analyze security incidents, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security awareness training for employees.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are followed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role (experience can be substituted for relevant certifications).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices (e.g., CIA triad, risk management).
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, penetration testing methodologies, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
- Working knowledge of network security concepts (firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Points:
- Industry recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH).
- Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with incident response planning and procedures.
